Position Overview
Roles and Responsibilities
- Utilize 3-D modeling and engineering principles to design the chassis and housings for various sub-assemblies and components that make up the final ION-1 Product Line. Develop methods of managing heat generated by the core O2 generator.
- Attend/Participate in Design Review, Job Feasibility and Contract Review meetings. Senior Design engineers have the authority and responsibility to create design requirements, review product specifications and act as a final sign-off of approval from the engineering department to proceed or reject a contract.
- Provide final ECN and Temporary Deviation Authority and approval.
- Act as a team leader to coworkers in Ion Team with the authority to oversee, delegate and manage various projects Requirements.
- Provide final acceptance and approval of engineering work done by other members of the Ion Team.
- Monitor and Review drawing packages, engineering documentation, and procedures created by the department with the responsibility to intervene and prevent inaccurate documentation from release to other departments of the company.
The Skills You Bring
- 5+ years in a similar position is preferred but not required. Must have existing engineering job experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Bio-medical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering required.
The successful candidate should have 5+ years of hands-on experience/knowledge in:
- Working in a manufacturing production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to design products, improving existing product design.
- Implementing lean/six sigma concepts
- 3D Modeling, SolidWorks or Fusion 360 preferred, but not required. Must be fluent in 3D Software.
- 2D CAD for schematic generation (AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of programming and operating 3D and resin printers, a plus. (Used for various R&D projects).
- Superior organizational skills.

- Background in ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA 510K, Medical Devices, or AS 9100 and FAA PMA is a plus.
