Position Overview

NovaPure LLC is looking for a Senior Design/R&D Engineer. This position requires the Senior Design Engineer to have a Mechanical (Preferred), Biomedical, or Aerospace degree with a strong design background focusing on Mechanical Engineering with some experience applying Fluid dynamics, Thermodynamics or Heat transfer principals to physical design of housings and metal cabinets. This is a very hands-on position in which you will be required to be the liaison between the customer, vendors, sales department, and the manufacturing floor. Interested candidates should expect to travel frequently within the US and internationally on occasion to support early adoption and promotion.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Attend/Participate in Job Feasibility and Contract Review meetings.  Senior Design engineers have the authority and responsibility to review job specifications and act as a final sign-off of approval from the engineering department to proceed or reject a contract.
  • Provide final ECN and Temporary Deviation Authority and approval.
  • Act as a supervisor to co-workers in engineering department with the authority to oversee, delegate and manage various engineering projects.
  • Provide final acceptance and approval of engineering work done by other members of the engineering department.
  • Monitor and Review drawing packages, engineering documentation, and procedures created by the department with the responsibility to intervene and prevent inaccurate documentation from release to other departments of the company.
  • In the absence of the Engineering Manager, temporarily manage and oversee the department in all aspects, including department decisions. Acting as a second in command for the department.

The Skills You Bring

  • 5+ years in a similar position is preferred but not required. Must have existing engineering job experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Bio-medical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering required. 
The successful candidate should have 5+ years of hands-on experience/knowledge in:
  • Working in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to design products, improving existing product design.
  • Implementing lean/six sigma concepts
  • 3D Modeling, SolidWorks or Fusion 360 preferred, but not required.  Must be fluent in 3D Software.
  • 2D CAD for schematic generation (AutoCAD, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of programming and operating 3D and resin printers, a plus. (Used for various R&D projects).
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
  • Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team player who works productively with a wide range of people.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Project Management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Background in ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA 510K, Medical Devices, or AS 9100 and FAA PMA is a plus.
